Where to go?
If we can make a traveling itinerary for you around our hometown these are our suggestions:
Plan to stay at least 2 nights in Barranquilla so you can get to enjoy the city and get over the hangover after the party, if you still have extra vacation time there are 2 cities we would love for you to visit, one is Cartagena de Indias, located between Cartagena and Barranquilla is the mud volcano, a totally different experience worth the stop. Our last suggestion will be Santa Marta, and if you decide to take that route then the Natural National Park Tayrona will for sure make you fall in love with our country.
Local entertainment
Walk through the public gardens and lawns of the Magdalena River Avenue Boardwalk on the island of La Loma. The boardwalk extends from the intersection of Olaya Herrera Avenue and Sixth Street, crosses the island to the north parallel to the river, and ends at a roundabout at the Tablaza channel.
The vueltiao hat is a symbol of the Colombian Caribbean. An enormous example can be found on the roof of the Santa Verónica tourist shop in the town of Juan de Acosta, 22 miles southwest of Barranquilla. Here travelers receive information on local attractions and taste regional dishes of the Atlántico department
leaving the city by the Via 40, just after Puerto Colombia, is Climandario beach and the Pradomar hotel. It’s a great place to spend a day on the beach, surf or party all night.
Castillo de Salgar. A strategic place previously used to control the arrival of ships and goods from abroad through the Caribbean Sea. Currently works as a restaurant and venue.
